Despite its enviable location on the coast of Belize, on the southern tip of the Placencia Peninsula, Placencia Village has always been a sleepy, out of the way town… a difficult place to get to… until now. The much anticipated paved road from Belize City to Placencia has now been finished and the new Placencia International Airport is under construction which will soon allow for direct flights from all US cities. More importantly, expected sometime in 2011, there will be direct flights from Europe to Belize and the impact will be immeasurable.
Despite the sagging global economy, Placencia Village is poised to boom and real estate values will only go up. The Europeans are coming… and ownership in Belize, in Chabil Mar Villas will be a sound and lucrative investment.

5% Transfer Tax on all real estate purchases in Belize is waived because you are buying a Belizean Trust and not real estate. This translates to a $26K reduction in closing costs. If you were buying a comparable Villa and had to pay the Belize transfer tax (as you became the new owner of record), your $535K purchase would really cost you $561K. This ownership structure is a significant advantage to you, not just in cost savings for your purchase, but a significant advantage should you elect to sell the Villa in the future, as the same situation would exist for the new buyer.

I do not know about you but I spend most of my holidays in Mallorca. A few years ago I said enough to crowdy hotels and since then I always take a house or villa rental, I get full privacy, more room, a private villa and a lot more. Oftentimes a house or villa rental costs me less than a hotel booking which is great, I can spend that extra money clubbing.
